Overview
FACULTY OF ELECTRONICS AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS
The study programme “Telecommunications” has been designed to prepare students who intend to venture into one of the most dynamical and radically changing fields, that of telecommunication, information communication technology, mobile computing, computer networking and security.
Providing students with basic and advanced knowledge in computer architecture, computer networking, internet technologies, telecommunication engineering, protocols and security paradigms is of paramount importance and therefore, along with theoretical studies there is included computer lab work and hands-on learning.
In this digital era Telecommunications engineering lies at the heart of what we call “the information exchange” and in recent years the demand for the highly qualified engineer has increased exponentially.
The Bachelor study programme provides a blend of knowledge from electrical engineering and computer science focusing on communications networks and systems, encoding theory, information/optical processing and transmission.
The aim of the programme is to provide an academic education in Engineering Telecommunications and prepare students for further studies at the Masters level.
KEY FEATURES
Interacting Openly: At our faculties, interaction is encouraged between student-faculty-industry and through open interaction and discussion by established and growing minds, great things can be created and conceived.
Programme Updates: Programmes regularly include new courses following prospective trends.
Exploring Sources: Guest lecturers provide constant new source and subjects.
Progressive Research Based Learning: Students of RTU are encouraged to be involved in the activities under the control of Doctoral Researchers, with a belief that their minds will bring new dimensions to the research activities in the Faculty and add to their experience prior to entering the workforce.
