The study programme Customs Process Management is unique and is characterized by interdisciplinarity, as 40 % courses bring together the disciplines of taxes, customs, supply chains and communications. Other study courses are focused directly on customs, tax policy, business development. The study programme was prepared considering global changes. The report “The Future of Customs in the EU 2040” shows that the need to adapt to the transformation of global trade is increasing. Multidisciplinary between customs processes, tax administration is an integral part of any forecasting process. New legislation fills the customs policy with new obligations. A growing world population, increasing climate change pressures and a global situation where exports and imports cannot be taken for granted have led to greater urbanisation, greater competition for land and greater demand for local resources, leading to more pollution and loss of biodiversity. The customs authorities of some Member States are experiencing difficulties in carrying out their functions in accordance with European Union standards as set out in the Union Customs Code, mainly due to a lack of resources. Difficulties are experienced due to incompletely implemented common policies and barriers. Therefore, the aim of 2040 is that there are not separate customs offices in the European Union, but rather the European Union customs office.
