Entry qualification | High school / secondary education (or higher) N. B. for non-EU/EFTA applicants: the gap since your completed secondary degree should not exceed five years. If your qualification meets the requirements, you will receive an invitation for a motivational interview. The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English / Lithuanian. Often you can get a suitable transcript from your school. If this is not the case, you will need official translations along with verified copies of the original. Applicants must upload education documents in original language, as well as translations into English. Overview
The distinctive feature of the English Philology programme is the flexibility of the study programme providing the opportunity for students to individualize their studies in a way that best suits their interests and abilities. The programme allows students:
1) to specialise in different aspects of English linguistics, literature and culture;
2) to choose a minor study programme of a different field/ subject offered at Vilnius University;
or 3) to combine different courses of their main field and general university courses offered at Vilnius University.
The English Philology programme is a student-centred programme which fosters their learning motivation, develops competencies necessary for the student in order to meet the needs of social and personal development, and local and global labour market, it also helps students to acquire competences compatible with their bachelor’s degree and be prepared for further studies or work in a certain area.

Upon completion of the English Philology programme, graduates will have developed necessary skills to pursue their Master’s degree in Arts, Humanities and Social sciences which offer options in the field of psychology, education, political science, international relations, history, fine arts, design, sociology, and so many more, with further specific areas of specialization available. Our graduates will be able to find employment in translation, public relations, journalism, teaching, research, literary and film criticism, content editing, marketing, law, economics, working for foreign embassies, government and European Union institutions etc. Our graduates take leading positions in both—private and public sectors. Quite a few graduates have continued their academic career at Lithuanian and/or foreign universities.
