Overview
The aim of the study programme: to provide knowledge in the usage of linguistic units and their variants in different language registers at separate levels (phonetics, morphology, syntax) of modern English and Russian languages in the context of the achievements in modern linguistics; To develop practical skills in English and Russian languages on the basis of four kinds of linguistic activities – speaking, writing, listening and reading – all of which should be materialized in producing written and spoken texts in different linguistic situations; To develop the skills in text analysis and interpretation, which are necessary in materializing the abilities to edit and translate texts from English to Russian and from Russian to English languages.
Career opportunities
The international labour market needs highly qualified linguists with a good command of two languages of global significance (English – level C1 and Russian – level B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) who are able to apply their skills in various areas of academic and professional activities which require multilingual graduates – translation, editing, publishing, international business and tourism, etc.
