Overview
Every interaction between people is of a psychological nature, especially when it comes to closing deals together, working out goals in a team, motivating employees or, in short: bringing about positive company developments. Always at the interface between business and psychology, business psychologists are entrusted with a variety of tasks. This includes, for example, empirical market and consumer research and the search, selection and assessment of qualified employees.
In this master’s program, based on economic knowledge, you will acquire the psychological tools to, for example, carry out market and consumer analyzes and derive marketing strategies from them or to accompany personnel and structural decision-making and change processes in companies.
Since psychology is a research-driven discipline, you will learn e.g. B. know the methods of quantitative and qualitative empirical social research in order to be able to observe, analyze and understand the behavior of economic actors. The focus in the first semester is on psychology, which is considered under economic issues. In the second semester you will deepen your knowledge in the areas of work and organizational psychology as well as in market and advertising psychology, which you will apply in the third semester as part of a specific topic as part of a practical project.
You will also deal with the motives of human action and social perception mechanisms. In order to be psychologically competent, for example as a manager with a management function, you will also expand your skills in the areas of interviewing, coaching, mediation and management.
Thanks to the skills you have acquired, upon completion of your studies you qualify to take on responsible specialist and managerial tasks in interdisciplinary teams in the fields of human resources, corporate development or marketing.
