ASSIGNED QUALIFICATIONPROGRAMMING TECHNICIAN

Brief summary of the main tasks of professional activity:
- a software technician carries out software development, operational testing and operational changes in order to create a simple software solution or its components that is functional and meets the specified requirements.
A software technician works for a company that deals with programming, or as an individual entrepreneur or individual merchant.

In the process of designing a web application, a professional programmer who has chosen the qualification of Programming Technician develops the architecture of the project and databases and, using web programming languages, creates all the necessary functionality for it.

The main goal of the program is a complete, in-depth study of the capabilities of web programming languages, internal mechanisms and their correct application, a detailed overview of databases and their capabilities, as well as comprehensive application security.

The program includes mastering the principles of operation of World Wide Web technologies and search engine optimization, as well as studying web standards with the help of which a developer can create a layout for a web page of any complexity. In addition, students practice teamwork using version control mechanisms, and special attention is paid to the practical creation of web applications, using both specialized tools and creating their own accelerated development frameworks.


The duration of study in Latvia is two years. At the same time, those who wish will be able to study German in our training center.

Programme structure

OBJECTIVES OF THE VOCATIONAL EDUCATION PROGRAM
As a result of the training process, provide the opportunity to acquire the following knowledge, skills and competencies:

Read and understand technical solutions and schematic representations of software or parts thereof and use the information obtained to perform work tasks.
Obtain information about the structure of a specific software or part of it and estimate the scope of work.
Create a software module using a programming language and following software development methodology and best practices.
Read and analyze the existing source code of a software module, write the source code of the software module, check that it meets user needs, and perform unit testing.
Assess the suitability of the code structure for your task and refactor the code (improving the structure or design of the program code without changing the expected functionality).
Briefly and clearly formulate the principles of operation of a source code fragment.
Create databases and use them to the required extent for software modules of control systems.
Prepare test data sets, select the most suitable software modules for testing and conduct software performance testing.
Maintain the software and update it if necessary.
Analyze and resolve errors identified by the user of supported software, their causes, or inconsistencies with documentation.
Determine the actions necessary to complete a work assignment in order of priority, reasonably determine and comply with the deadlines for completing a work assignment, perform the work independently and be responsible for the result of their work.
Prepare written and oral information on the progress of development, testing, implementation and maintenance of software, drawing up documents in accordance with work assignments, observing the principles of data protection and confidentiality.
Evaluate acquired knowledge and skills and constantly improve your professional qualifications by regularly familiarizing yourself with professional news in the information and communication industry, using technical documentation, the Internet and other sources of technical information.
Work individually and in a team, observing the principles of professional ethics, norms of professional interaction and labor relations.
Organize, use and maintain a safe workplace, comply with electrical, fire, labor and environmental safety rules, and provide first aid.
Communicate in the national language and one foreign language, use professional terminology.

After completing the training and successfully passing the exam, a qualification certificate of the acquired professional qualification and a certificate from the Institute are issued. Goette about knowledge of the German language at level B1.

Career opportunities

Those wishing to get a job in Germany after completing their studies must undergo an internship in Germany.

​During the internship, a stipend for living is paid – 1000.00 € per month. For this purpose, the level of knowledge of the German language must correspond to level B1.
