Entry qualification

Undergraduate diploma (or higher) Academic Bachelor in Natural Sciences, Computer Science or Bachelor of Social Sciences in Psychology, as well as equivalent higher education; Academic or professional Bachelor’s degree in sports science or sports pedagogy; Professional medical doctor degree or Bachelor’s degree in health care 1. The average grade in study courses must be 60% of the maximum. 2. All grades must be passing (at least 4 in a 10 point grading system). 3. English language proficiency. 4. Entrance examinations will consist of Oral Interviews during which the applicant’s motivation, previous achievements are tested The entry qualification documents are accepted in any languages (issued in or officially translated along with verified copies) You must take the original entry qualification documents along with you when you finally go to the university. Please provide bachelor’s diploma (for master studies) or master’s diploma (for doctoral studies) in the original language. If the diploma is not issued in English, a certified translation should be provided. The document must be legalised/apostilled

Overview

Aim of the study program – to provide students with the opportunity to study, analyze and develop the beneficial aspects of sport and physical activity – physical, mental, emotional and social, which improve the health and quality of life for all individuals, from children and young people to seniors, from patients with serious pathologies to professional high achievements, sports athletes, thus contributing to the growth of the intellectual potential of academically educated specialists, and promoting research-based interdisciplinary knowledge transfer to the themes of contemporary sports science.

Programme structure

Tasks of the study program:
1. To prepare students for academic careers in sports and exercise research centers, in the health education, public health, and health management institutions, sports agencies and associations, sports federations, sports medicine centers, medical rehabilitation centers, sports universities.
2. To provide graduates with the academic experience necessary for their further Professional activities in research institutions and the development of business.
To ensure the continuity of the development of sports science by providing graduates with prior knowledge for matriculation in sports science, natural sciences, social sciences, or other related doctoral study programs.

Career opportunities

Graduates can work in sports and exercise science and sports medicine research and medical centers, in the health education, publicē health and health management institutions; sports agencies and associations; sports federations; sports medical rehabilitation centers; sports universities. As qualified specialists, to work in cooperation with experts in other fields: food technologists (creation of new functional food products), with engineers (new measuring devices) with specialists in computing science (acquired sensors, computer programms, training methods, including load modeling and simulation devices, virtual reality), etc.
