Обзор

The inter-university programme of Ventspils University College and the University of Liepaja offers the opportunity to learn about the theory of linguistics, information technology methods in linguistics and other aspects, the understanding of which will enable one to become an internationally renowned scholar in philology. Scientific and academic research in the field of linguistics is supported by the following objectives: to develop research issues of current interest in Latvian linguistics and the public sphere, and to broaden Letonics research and the theoretical base of translation studies. The study programme provides doctoral students with the opportunity to successfully pursue their doctoral goals in order to obtain the degree of Doctor of Philology (Dr.philol.) and the corresponding doctoral competences in the field. The Doctor of Philology degree provides an opportunity to join the Latvian and international scientific community, to perform academic duties, as well as other areas of activity.
