About

Throughout our history, we’ve fostered social justice and improved lives through academic excellence. And we continue to live and breathe this spirit today, not because it’s simply ‘the right thing to do’ but for what it helps us achieve and the intellectual brilliance it delivers.

Our reformer heritage informs our conviction that great ideas can and should come from anywhere. It’s an approach that has brought results across the globe, from the communities of east London to the favelas of Rio de Janeiro.

We continue to embrace diversity of thought and opinion in everything we do, in the belief that when views collide, disciplines interact, and perspectives intersect, truly original thought takes form.

Accomodation
Whether you want to live in halls, private rental accommodation or elsewhere, we offer support to help you choose what’s right for you. You'll find out more about our accommodation application process further down the page.

Our sites in Mile End, Whitechapel, Charterhouse Square and West Smithfield offer almost 3,000 student bedrooms.

Our halls of residence offer a range of affordable options, either on campus or a short distance away. Residential fees start from around £170 per week for a non-ensuite room.

Accommodation guarantee

We guarantee accommodation to all new undergraduate and foundation students, as long as you meet the eligibility criteria on our accommodation webpages.

Whether you choose to live in halls with other new students or prefer an alternative housing option, our experienced team of housing advisors is here to help you make the right choice.

All of our campus accommodation is in self-catered flats, just a few minutes’ walk from everything you need to get the best out of your degree and your Queen Mary experience.

You’ll feel at home as part of our friendly community of staff and students. A peaceful oasis in a busy city. Our self-contained Mile End campus is our largest, and offers everything you need to live, study and relax.

Our lecture theatres, laboratories and study spaces – including our extensive 24-hour library – will all be on your doorstep. You’ll also have access to the two shops, four cafés, two restaurants, bar, gym, and bookshop on site.

Our halls of residence have a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, surrounded by greenery and attractive outdoor spaces. At times, it’s easy to forget that you’re living in the heart of a bustling capital city.

Campus accommodation is fun, safe and convenient – an affordable way to enjoy London life. It’s also a great way to meet new people and create your own community of friends.
